Jewels of Change: Lady Lawyers Impacting the World is a documentary film inspired by the life and work of the late Attorney and Ambassador Jewel LaFontant Mankarious, a woman who was a trailblazer, a dynamic personality unafraid to traverse paths others avoid in fear. But no one knows her name, even after she reached the heights of her legal career spanning politics, government service, philanthropy and business from 1947 until 1997.
We will tell Jewel's story and show the world how her legacy lives on as modern day Jewels are making change and breaking molds using their law degrees in government, politics, on the bench, in law firms, in their communities and in the media while the world takes note. It's time for this movement of change in heels and skirts to be televised.
Even after reaching the heights of her legal career spanning politics, government service, philanthropy and business from the mid 40's to the late 90's, no one knows her name. Yet, contemporary "Jewels" are writing history and breaking molds using their law degrees to make change in government, politics, law firms, on the bench, in board rooms, in the media, internationally and in their communities while the world takes note.
